Three characteristics to contribute to your success in network marketing

Today I am going to talk about a skill set required to be in a higher level position. These skill sets will lead to leverage and residual income which every successful person know are key to success.

Three characteristics that contribute to success:

1. Willingness to work 2. Willingness to learn – being coachable 3. Burning desire to succeed! It has to be more than just the money – there has to be something more important fuelling your desire.

Willingness to work

Our leaders in our company, Zija International – these folks are the hardest working folks on their teams. The ones who are willing to help you, they have been and are the hardest working ones. If you want to be successful, you have to be willing to work hard. No one accomplishes anything of significance without hard work. Myself personally, in my few years with Zija I have been able to earn what would have taken 150 years as a truck driver…. I didn’t do this sitting around eating bonbons.

It’s not just the hours of work – hours do not dictate success – what’s most important is that the hours that you put in are effective. Make sure your activities are correct activities focused in correct areas. Be consistent. I never put 40-50 hours/week work hours in my Zija business – it is a part-time business for me. The difference is to be consistent. It is better to commit 1 hour a day every day rather than 8 hours on a Sat. It needs to become a daily method of operation. It is most important to be consistent. A little bit every single day. It is easier to do a little bit every day, rather than ramping up, then having a break and ramping up again.

And Finally, it is important to keep doing this for a prolonged period of time. Most people’s success is based on daily activity for a prolonged period of time. There is magic to doing it for a prolonged period of time. For example, if you want to run a marathon – if you train for a marathon you won’t be successful if you try to run 20 km in your first day. But if you put in a little bit more every day you will succeed.

Willingness to Learn – being coachable

Every single one of the field leaders went through a process of learning, they were coachable and they continue to do them on a daily basis. If you want to be a leader, you need to be willing to learn.

As a leader – you can’t teach something you don’t know and you can’t teach something you don’t do… Every leader has done what they are teaching you to do, and they continue to do it on a daily basis.

Burning Desire to Succeed

The desire to succeed is the most important attribute as it will contribute to the 1st and 2nd characteristics. These characteristics will also create leadership with a focus on helping others. It’s not just about the money, its about your why. If your need for success is high enough, you will do whatever you need to do. I was a truck driver, but I needed a different lifestyle, so that I could be at home with my son at the time. Network Marketing afforded my that lifestyle. I had a burning desire to succeed – and still do!
